Asiga Freeform PICO resin 3D-printing settings & compatible resin

The Asiga Freeform Pico resin workflow originates from the same technological foundation that began in 2011, when Asiga introduced the world’s first LED‑based DLP 3D printer and triggered a shift toward accessible, high‑precision desktop stereolithography. This early innovation earned Asiga the MJSA Thinking Ahead Award in 2012 and established the Pico, MAX and PRO 4K platforms as reference systems for accuracy, reliability and open‑material operation. The original Asiga Freeform Pico remains one of the highest‑resolution DLP printers ever released, offering true XY resolutions down to 27 microns and Z‑layer control adjustable in 1‑micron increments, supported by a stable UV LED light engine and Asiga’s separation technology for consistent layer release. With compact build volumes ranging from 40 × 30 × 76 mm to 35 × 21.8 × 76 mm depending on the Pico and Pico Plus variants, the platform is designed for extremely detailed jewelry, dental and micro‑engineering applications where dimensional fidelity is critical.

Within this open‑material architecture, the Asiga Freeform Pico resin compatibility with Liqcreate materials provides users access to specialized photopolymers for engineering, dental and functional prototyping. According to validated data, only one optimized parameter set is currently available for the Asiga Freeform Pico, specifically for Liqcreate Composite‑X, and the corresponding .ini file can be requested directly via info@liqreate.com. This ensures controlled curing behavior, predictable shrinkage and stable mechanical performance when printing with this high‑strength composite material on the Pico’s 385 nm DLP system. While only Composite‑X has an officially optimized profile, most other Liqcreate resins can also function on the Pico platform due to its open‑material design and compatible wavelength range. Users working with non‑optimized materials can manually tune exposure, separation speeds and burn‑in layers, and Liqcreate offers direct support for parameter development when needed.

The combination of the Asiga Freeform Pico resin workflow and Liqcreate photopolymers allows professionals to leverage the printer’s extremely fine optical resolution with a broad portfolio of engineering and specialty resins. Whether the goal is high‑detail jewelry patterns, dental models, micro‑mechanical components or functional prototypes, the Pico’s precise LED illumination and stable mechanical control provide a reliable foundation for resin calibration. As additional Liqcreate materials are validated over time, the Freeform Pico remains a strong platform for users who require high‑resolution DLP printing with full control over resin selection and parameter optimization. At the time of writing only one parameter is avaiable for the Asiga Freeform PICO for Liqcreate Composite-X. The .ini file to import all parameters in the Asiga composer is available, send us an e-mail at info@liqcreate.com to request this parameter file. Technically most other Liqcreate resins can also work on the Asiga Pico printer, but have not been optimized. If you have an Asiga Freeform PICO and want to work with a non-optimized resin, feel free to contact us at info@liqcreate.com and we can guide you through optimization.
