The Moonray S & D printers by Sprintray are both high-end DLP 3D-printers and are partially open for 3rd party resins. The Sprintray Moonray S is designed for industrial use and has a 405nm light source with a pixel size of 100 micron. The Sprintray Moonray D is especially designed for the dental market, with the main difference being the pixel size of 75 micron.
Although the SprintRay Moonray can be used with 3rd party resins, it is not a truly open machine. This means that resin manufacturers like Liqcreate have to adapt their materials to the exposure settings available in the machine. At the release of the printer, a select amount of Liqcreate resins were tested and validated as Legacy Settings for SprintRay Moonray. While we no longer officially support this hardware due to machine aging, the following settings were verified for users still operating these units. A list of materials and settings that worked in 2018Â can be found in this article, try at your own risk.
Settings that worked before with a new Moonray printer might not work now anymore due to the decrease of UV power of the printer, try at your own risk!
